With an MSc in Computer Vision and a PhD in computational geometry, I have over 10 years of experience in applied research with a particular focus on the development of prototype software tools (desktop and web). I have a strong expertise in the digital field of Smart Cities, including 3D geospatial data creation, processing and management, urban Digital Twins, spatial standards, 3D indoor modelling and navigation, BIM/GIS/IoT integration. I have an international experience with several years spent in Africa, Europe and Oceania. I started my studies in Senegal and finished with a PhD in France on geometric, topological and semantic issues around building models. Then I did a first postdoc in The Netherlands on diverse projects including the development of a smart 3D indoor navigation system for emergency response (SIMs3D project) and the integration of BIM and GIS data (geoBIM project). I am currently leading the Digital Twin theme in a geospatial research group in an Australian university and involved in several Digital Twin projects. Additionally, I am an active member of the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC), where I contribute to the development on international standards. Among other, I am co-leading the development of the second version of the IndoorGML standard. Also involved in the activities of other international organisations (ISPRS, SSSI, etc.), I benefit from a huge network of geospatial experts all over the world.
