Product Development Food Scientist with over 8 years of experience in the food industry.

I have developed products for restaurant chains, large companies, and small start-ups. I love the challenge of creating a delicious and nutritious product from ingredients within quality and price parameters.

I graduated with an MS in Food Technology from Wageningen University (ranked #1 in the world for agricultural and food sciences).

My specific skills include:

- Product labelling: Develop an FDA-compliant nutrition facts panel, including serving size, calories, nutrients, %DV, and ingredient deck. Provide all other information regarding labelling required to be FDA compliant.

- Product formulation: Develop and provide a formula capable of creating a consistent, high-quality product. This includes testing potential combinations of ingredients for sensory appeal and product functionality while staying within the desired price range. More complex or technical products require longer and cost more to formulate.

- Ingredient sourcing: Create relationships with potential suppliers. Obtain ingredient samples, specifications, and price estimates. Provide a cost-benefit analysis of each of the ingredient options. Needs to be done for each of the ingredients included in the product.

- Package sourcing: Create relationships with potential suppliers. Obtain packaging samples, specifications, and price estimates. Provide a cost-benefit analysis of each of the packaging options.

- HACCP planning: Use established manufacturing plan and understanding of potential hazards to create and implement a HACCP plan.

- Product certification: Interface with certifying organizations to obtain USDA organic, Non-GMO project, Kosher, Gluten-Free, Fair Trade, or other certifications desired for the product.
