I am a PhD Molecular Geneticist and Computational Biologist with over a decade of experience in genomics, bioinformatics, and NGS data analysis. I partner with research labs, biotech startups, and individual scientists to transform raw sequencing data into publication-ready results. My core expertise lies in end-to-end bioinformatics: I build and execute custom NGS analysis pipelines, starting from raw FASTQ files through quality control, mapping (BWA), variant calling (GATK, SAMtools), and annotation, all the way to final VCF outputs and downstream population genomic interpretation. My work spans whole-genome sequencing (WGS), mitochondrial genomes, and targeted marker panels, with specialist knowledge in GWAS, haplotype phasing, introgression analysis, and demographic history reconstruction using tools like PLINK, BEAST, STRUCTURE, and Admixture. I write all my custom scripts in R, Python, and Bash, and I am comfortable working in HPC Linux environments. My PhD research at the University of Nottingham (UK) traced the ancestral migratory routes of indigenous village chickens using 346 whole genomes and thousands of mitochondrial markers. This project involved phylogeographic inference, Bayesian Skyline Plots, and multi-marker population genetics, leading to multiple publications in international journals like BMC Genetics, Genomics, and Animal Biotechnology. I continue to apply these rigorous analytical frameworks to projects in livestock genomics, conservation genetics, and beyond. Beyond the terminal, I bring a unique blend of teaching and regulatory experience. I have served as a university lecturer in Human Genetics, teaching everything from Mendelian inheritance to phylogenetic tree construction, and I currently supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research at the University of Fallujah’s Biotechnology Centre. My background also includes years as a public health inspector, giving me a practical understanding of laboratory quality control, biosafety protocols, and compliance documentation.
