Since my Master of Sciences Thesis, I've worked in the field of marine ecotoxicolgy, using molecular, biochemical and cellular markers to assess the effects of environmental disturbance and anthropogenic contamination on marine organisms, both in laboratory conditions and in field studies. Since I was a PhD students, my research activity has been focused on how climate change-related stressors (i.e. ocean acidification and marine heat waves) modulate the bioaccumulation and the biological effects of anthropogenic pollutants, as metals and pharmaceuticals, in marine invertebrates from temperate and polar regions. Nevertheless, I am involved in several projects as: • presence and effects of emerging compounds (as microplastics and pharmaceuticals) in marine organisms; • monitoring and environmental impact assessment of off-shore platforms, dredging activities, oil-spills; • development of environmental and biological data analysis tools (Weight Of Evidence models); • Toxicity testing of matrices and compounds using bioassays;
