I am a molecular microbiologist with a passion for understanding how bacteria cause disease, interact with their host, and survive immune responses and antibiotic treatment. My research has focused on Extraintestinal Pathogenic E. coli (ExPEC), a leading cause of urinary tract infections, sepsis, and meningitis worldwide. During my PhD at the University of Utah under Dr. Matthew Mulvey, I developed expertise in host-pathogen interactions, real-time infection models using zebrafish embryos, bacterial stress responses, and mechanistic studies of persistence. In my current role as an SRI Fellow, I continue to study ExPEC while gaining valuable experience in BSL-2 laboratory practices, IACUC-compliant animal protocols, and scientific teaching and mentorship, further broadening my experimental and communication skills. I provide remote consulting, scientific writing, manuscript and grant editing, experimental design, protocol development, and data analysis for companies, researchers, and startups in microbiology, biotechnology, and life sciences. I combine mechanistic expertise with clear digestible communication to help clients produce high-quality scientific outputs efficiently.
