I'm a bioinformatics specialist, particularly interested in metagenomics. As a postdoc at the Institute of Virology, Helmholtz Zentrum München, I investigate the role of viruses, especially bacteriophages and their interplay with bacteria to maintain the balance of different ecosystems, whether in the environment or in clinical contexts. In my PhD, I studied antibiotic resistance in Red Sea brine pools. I also set some guidelines for more accurate identification of antibiotic resistance genes in metagenomes. I also have good experience in microbiology and molecular biology.
