I am interested to understand the processes of life and transform our knowledge acquired into products to improve our life. My line of research interests are those of using single molecule biophysical techniques, reconstitution of macromolecular assembly and dynamics and observation of those in vitro and in living cells. I currently oversee several projects from molecular dynamics simulations, theoretical physics, biochemistry, cell biology and biophysics. Beyond my academic research activities, I have developed a live-cell ‘Lifeact’ marker for actin that is now worldwide used. Furthermore, I serve as a freelance consultant for Hypermol, to research and develop new technologies to study and manipulate the actin cytoskeleton. I am looking for my next big challenge!
