Sustainable energy and transportation expert interested in electrochemical technologies | Modeling and analysis

I am a sustainable energy and transportation professional with an avid interest in electrochemical technologies such as batteries and fuel cells. Currently, I am associated with two clean energy startups based out of the Los Angeles Area. The first one, Nanodian, is a battery company focused on developing pseudocapacitive nanosized lithium manganese oxide cathode particles and a scaleable process technology for the same. I am working on extending the LION-SIMBA battery model to understand the state of charge and voltage dynamics, and cell degradation with cycle, in addition to wearing a business development consultant hat. The second startup is MOEV, dealing with smart charging, where I work as a grants consultant. During my 14 year career, I have worked on a wide array of scientific topics encompassing a broad range of skills. Some examples include: - understanding real-world emissions and energy consumption patterns from a comprehensive set of 27 diesel-powered construction equipment encompassing multiple model years, powertrain technologies, and Tiers. - Filling in missing data in an air quality time series over a station network by modifying an unsupervised machine learning technique and verifying its efficacy. - evaluating effects of temperature and driving conditions on gasoline exhaust VOC emissions - quantifying uncertainty in gasoline and diesel exhaust emissions using a Monte Carlo technique - understanding the effects on regional air quality due to (a) transportation sources (e.g. gasoline/diesel vehicles) and (b) unconventional energy development activities (e.g. drilling and fracking in shale gas plays) - modeling titanium dioxide formation in a plug-flow reactor through gas-phase synthesis using a Monte Carlo method. In addition, I have had extensive experience in grant writing, generating $600,000+ in revenue. Important grant awards include one from the US Department of Homeland Security and the Texas Air Research Center.
