A vision scientist, having a unique combination of expertise from clinical and basic sciences research. My research has helped me to secure in excess of $175,000 (USD) in competitive research funding, including my recent early career award from Brain Canada. Besides this, I have the experience of working in multimillion-dollar projects during my doctoral studies at the University of Auckland (2012-16, total funding of $3m by National Institutes of Health and National Institute on Drug Abuse, USA). Working within interdisciplinary teams of diverse background during my doctoral and postdoctoral research (U Waterloo and The Hospital for Sick Children, 2016-18) has enhanced my decision-making ability and helped to establish myself as an independent researcher. Through my research, I have addressed important questions on visual development and its relationship with other neural domains such as cognition and motor function. In addition, my research has influenced government drug safety policies in New Zealand and Canada. ☛ Highlights: • Worked at 3 top-100 QS ranked Universities and 2 of the largest children hospitals of North America • Invited speaker at tier-1 institutions (including Johns Hopkins U and U Rochester) and international conferences • Reviewer/examiner of well-respected international funding agencies, journals, and graduate program • Established national and international collaborations across various disciplines, resulting in multidisciplinary publications • Supervised 2 graduate students (PhD/MS), 20+ honors students, 5 summer interns, and 4 research assistants ☛ Core Research Skills: ✔ Clinical eye care ✔ Behavioral psychophysics (MATLAB, Python) ✔ Neuroimaging (Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Magnetoencephalography) ✔ Non-invasive Brain Stimulation (transcranial magnetic and direct current simulations) ✔ Data analysis (SPSS, SAS)
