I am very interested in the adaptive immune response to vaccines and cancer immunotherapy, including T cell responses, cytokines and other immune markers. I have been involved in several preclinical trials: an animal model of HIV and mouse models of breast, lung and bladder cancer. I enjoy strategizing on vaccine development, especially looking at novel immunogens, timing of prime and boosts, and adjuvant use. I have expertise in setting up experimental vaccine trials, including experimental and control groups, vaccine schedule, assays and analysis. I have set up preclinical trials, including those involving multi-valent vaccine strategies and studies combining tumor peptide vaccine with other therapies, such as adoptive cell transfer, chemotherapy and radiation. I am experienced at developing and optimizing immune assays, these include a flow cytometry based T-cell proliferation assay, CD4/CD8 T-cell ratios and ELISPOT. I have extensive experience in molecular biology, cell culture and biomarker discovery. I am very good at experimental designs and taking the next step in a project, as well as moving a project forward.
