𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘆 - Data scientist/statistician/social scientist with 10+ years experience - Utilize combine scientific methodology with emerging technology - Years of previous corporate consulting experience - Phd in industrial organizational psychology - Wide variety of technical skills and broad tool proficiency I really enjoy solving challenging and often ambiguous problems for clients using a combination of emergent technologies and established research methods. I favor a data-driven approach that blends both quantitative and qualitative methodology as appropriate. 𝗦𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 - Statistical programming (predominately R and Python) - Data processing: transformation, cleaning, and combining - Relational database engineering and optimization (PostgreSQl, MySQL/MariaDB, etc.) - Dev-ops and automation (Docker, APIs, N8N, etc.) - Frontier and open-source LLMs pipelines (OpenAI, Ollama, RAG, agents, etc.) - Survey design/analysis (e.g., Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey, SurveyJS, etc.) - Qualitative interview techniques (focus groups, one-on-one, etc.) - Organizational development, training evaluation, and employee engagement - Technical writing and design (e.g., latex, markdown, etc.) - Backend web development (NodeJS, Wordpress/PHP, etc.) - Government data (US) including products from CMS, Census, BLS, etc. 𝗕𝗶𝗼 I received my BA in Political Science from the University of Arizona (2007) and my PhD in Industrial Organizational Psychology from Old Dominion University (2017). My research focused on how the confluence of different organizational factors, such as leadership, employee characteristics, culture, etc. interact to determine key organizational outcomes such as turnover and absenteeism. I have previously been published in journals such as Leadership Quarterly and the International Journal of Stress Management. After graduate school, I worked as a workforce analytics consultant at Mercer, LLC. During a typical project, I was heavily involved in all stages of the analytics process from start to finish including client communication, data-quality standards, statistical modeling decisions, and supervising other analysts. In particular, I regularly assisted clients with issues related to problematic turnover, workforce planning, pay equity, and other assorted organizational best practices. Currently, I am working on a project to improve American healthcare - HCOThrive (hcothrive.com). More specifically, my aim is to target and serve healthcare organizations (e.g., providers) as well as related stakeholders by providing analytical insights that directly lead to cost and quality improvement.
