I help academic labs and biotech teams fix complex flow cytometry problems from designing robust panels to rescuing confusing datasets and strengthening flow cytometry figures for grants and manuscripts. The goal is simple: clean, defensible results delivered faster, without trial-and-error. I am an Assistant Professor at UT Southwestern Medical Center with leadership experience in flow cytometry core operations and extensive hands-on expertise in spectral flow cytometry (Cytek Aurora). I bring a reviewer’s perspective to every project, helping clients proactively address issues related to controls, data quality, and reproducibility before submission. How I Can Help Flow Panel Design & Optimization Design and optimization of spectral and conventional flow panels, including fluorophore selection, titration strategies, and spillover/spread control. Deliverables: panel map, control plan (single-stain and FMO), titration worksheet, SOP, and gating logic. Flow Cytometry Troubleshooting (“Rescue My Data”) Diagnosis of staining issues, unmixing/compensation problems, viability artifacts, sample preparation pitfalls, and gating errors. Deliverables: annotated FlowJo workspace, written diagnosis, and a prioritized fix list. Grant & Manuscript Flow Review NIH-style review of flow cytometry figures, controls, and methods with reviewer-proof recommendations. Deliverables: marked-up figures and methods, control checklist, and response-ready suggestions. Technical Focus • Spectral flow (Cytek Aurora): reference controls, autofluorescence handling, unmixing QC • Control strategy: single stains, FMOs, dump channels, viability dyes, fixation/permeabilization planning • Analysis: FlowJo, gating optimization, reproducibility and reporting best practices • Immunology: myeloid and intestinal immune populations; T-cell subsets and B cells Engagement Remote consulting (Zoom + data review).
