I completed my BSc (Biomedical sciences) and then PhD (Biomedical sciences) at the University of Aberdeen (UK). My studies focused upon screening new compounds for therapeutic use and gave rise to several peer reviewed journal publications. I then became motivated to undertake a postdoctoral researcher position at the University of Geneva (Switzerland). My research has focused upon understanding the genetic regulation of blood stem cells and lead to further peer review journal publications. I am now continuing my scientific research at the University of Birmingham where I am focusing using a range of single cell sequencing technologies to understand the transcriptional control of pathogenic programs that drive inflammation.
