I have a wide range of experience - from psychology to molecular biology, from postgraduate neuroscience to primary school environmental science. My research career moved from a neuroscience-focused psychology undergraduate degree to systems and behavioural neuroscience of movement disorders, then to cellular neuroscience, patch clamp electrophysiology, and molecular biology of neurodegenerative disorders. I have taught on biomedical and pharmacology courses covering cardiovascular physiology and pharmacology, stress and hormones, enzyme kinetics, protein analysis, the molecular basis of neurodegeneration, and biomedical laboratory methods. I have prepared written and spoken content for undergraduate and postgraduate courses, written review papers, produced technical documentation for risk assessment/hazardous substances/standard operating procedures, and helped to draft and proofread colleagues' papers and grant proposals, I have also created content for a range of settings and audiences beyond academia, from managing social media, to producing educational materials for primary school-aged children on the environmental value of bees, to engaging with stakeholder groups, to presenting at public events.
