プロフィール概要

I've had roles in the design and management of development of gene editing and bioinformatics systems (ongoing); co-founding a company and a charity and writing up whitepapers detailing the scientific approaches of both; interviewing and writing scripts; technical documentation; systems mapping; patent applications; review papers and grant applications.

I have a degree in Biochemistry from the University of Southampton, which included modules on bioinformatics and plenty of practical lab work in modern, well equipped laboratories. I have also worked with DIYBio laboratories and hackerspaces, which provide a very different perspective of scientific endeavour. I have exercised science communication skills in entrepreneurial and educational settings, in person, on videos and in writing for different audiences from children to experts.

I always approach my work methodically and logically, but allow enough creativity into it to keep the audience engaged and to make innovative leaps possible. As an interdisciplinary thinker, I am able to offer unique value from my position straddling academic, corporate and non-profit worlds, scientific, engineering and creative mindsets.
