David Pinto received his undergraduate degree in Control Engineering from Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) - Brazil in 2013, when he awarded a silver medal for the undergraduate highest academic standing. In 2015 he earned his Master's degree in Computational Intelligence from the same university. Now he is working as Chief Data Scientist at Nexer Labs, a company that provides big data solutions for telematics data. His main research interests are unsupervised learning, neural networks, data visualization, regularization and big data. David is the author and maintainer of the open source projects: fastknn, a KNN classifier library for large datasets, and machine learning animations, a website containing many animated visualizations which allow understanding how machine learning algorithms behave.
