An enthusiastic, self-motivated, adaptive and fast-learning person with broad range of interests in pharmacology, toxicology and breast cancer biology. Apart from that i love working in the areas of pharmaceutics, microbiology and pharmacognosy. Currently, i am working as a full-time Assistant Professor in Pharmacology and working on multiple projects that includes the toxicology of metals in breast cancer that involves multi-centred clinical sampling from various cancer hospitals across Pakistan. Previously, i did Pharm-D where i secured Gold medal and honoured to receive fully-funded scholarship from Higher Education Commission of Pakistan to pursuit MRes leading to PhD from Imperial College, London. Scientific accomplishments are evidenced by various peer-reviewed publications, scientific grants and various travel awards. I am broadly interested in exploring the novel molecular pathways that can be exploited to prevent/ treat cancer and to reduce chemotherapy related side effects. I strongly believe that molecular biology research should be integrated with medicinal chemistry, pharmaceutics and clinical research so that years long efforts can actually benefit masses in the form of new diagnostic test/drug etc. More recently, I have developed interest in phytochemicals that can help to improve the prognosis of current chemotherapies by reducing side effects and resistance. I am also collaborating on projects related to pharmaceutical dosage forms (chitosan nanoparticles/transdermal drug delivery systems) to expand my knowledge in the field of drug design. Moreover, I am interested in p53-mediated regulation of ferroptosis and development of ferroptosis-based antitumor therapies. My curiosities are on the potential of various phytochemicals (Curcumin, Flavonoids) and FDA approved drugs in chemoprevention and in improving the prognosis of chemotherapies. For instance, curcumin with known chemopreventive effects can be incorporated in transdermal delivery systems and such fabric can be introduced to control the incidence of cancer?
