RNA Biomarker Discovery Consultant | Scientific Writing & Editing

Biomedical researcher with an MS in Biomedical Sciences (GPA 3.75, Dean's List, Gold Medalist) and a Gold Medal BS in Biotechnology, currently applying to PhD programs in cancer epigenetics and mechanobiology. I combine hands-on wet-lab training with strong computational skills to help clients move from raw data to publication-ready results. My core research background is in circulating miRNA biomarker discovery. My MS thesis identified novel miRNA biomarkers for primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG), work that led to a first-author preprint currently in preparation for journal submission, and a peer-reviewed publication on non-coding RNA-mediated regulation of microglial function. On the computational side, I work regularly with R/Bioconductor (DESeq2, edgeR, Seurat, clusterProfiler, MOFA2, survminer) and Python for RNA-seq and single-cell RNA-seq analysis, differential expression, pathway enrichment, survival analysis, and public database mining (TCGA, GEO, GTEx). I've built full analysis pipelines from scratch, including a single-cell RNA-seq workflow on an Alzheimer's disease dataset and a multi-omics machine learning pipeline on TCGA Uveal Melanoma data. Alongside my own research, I have two years of laboratory training and mentoring experience, and I regularly support manuscript preparation — drafting results sections, verifying references, resolving data inconsistencies, and ensuring compliance with reporting standards like STARD, SAGER, and ICMJE guidelines. I'm comfortable taking a project from an initial dataset or research question through to a clear, well-organized deliverable, whether that's a statistical analysis report, a polished manuscript section, or a structured literature review.
