My research focuses on developing innovative and sustainable solutions for clean energy production and environmental remediation through interdisciplinary approaches in chemistry, materials science, and bioengineering. Specifically, I investigate the application of advanced nanomaterials and MOFs in microbial fuel cells (MFCs) to enhance bioelectrochemical energy conversion and wastewater treatment. My work integrates fundamental principles of electrochemistry, microbiology, and materials engineering to optimize energy efficiency and environmental sustainability. As a Fulbright Visiting Scholar at the Illinois Institute of Technology, I explored the use of MOFs and nanomaterial-enhanced catalysts in MFCs to improve their performance and scalability. A significant achievement of my research was the successful implementation of Spirulina platensis microbial fuel cells enhanced with silver nanoparticle-activated carbon composites, demonstrating improved power output and operational stability. Additionally, I investigated the feasibility of utilizing low-cost, recyclable solid waste materials, such as aluminum foil, as anode components in MFCs, achieving notable energy yields from marine sediment-based systems. These studies contribute to the development of cost-effective and sustainable bioelectrochemical technologies for renewable energy and wastewater treatment applications. Beyond laboratory research, I have actively engaged in interdisciplinary collaborations with marine chemists, microbiologists, and environmental engineers to explore real-world applications of bioelectrochemical systems. My participation in international conferences, publications in high-impact journals, and peer-reviewing roles underscore my commitment to advancing scientific knowledge and fostering innovation in sustainable energy research.
