I am an Associate Professor of Economics with a PhD in International Finance from Seoul National University. My work focuses on international finance, macroeconomics, digital finance, financial sector development, and applied econometrics. I have over 15 years of experience in university teaching, research, and consultancy. I have worked as a Research Fellow and consultant with institutions such as the Ethiopian Economics Association, Frontieri Consult, MasterKey Consult, Elixir Research Institute, and several World Bank–supported projects. I have led and contributed to multiple research projects on financial sector liberalization, digital finance, foreign bank entry, governance, SDG integration, public works programs, and policy analysis. I have published in international journals and contributed to policy papers, briefs, and the State of the Ethiopian Economy report. I regularly present my research at international conferences and engage in national policy dialogue forums. I also review manuscripts for international journals. I teach a range of PhD, Master’s, and undergraduate courses and have supervised many theses, including PhD candidates working on digital and inclusive finance. My technical skills include STATA, E-Views, SPSS, Microfit, and Survey Solutions. I am committed to producing policy-relevant, impactful economic research for Ethiopia and the broader region.
