プロフィール概要

My research interest covers all aspects of organic contamination in the environment. I have worked on low level contamination in the arctic, the bioaccumulation potential of these compounds. I have also measured high levels in waste water. In terms of chemicals I have investigated legacy POPS like PCBs, and dioxins alongside novel compounds like OPs and BFRs. A large focus on my work has been in the novels compounds developing SOPs for their collection, extraction and quantification. In terms of media i have sampled biological tissue, such as fish and blood samples, as well as snow, ice, water, and atmospheric measurements. A big focus for me in any stage of a project is the QA/QC requirements and that we should ensure these are clear and well thought out such that no questions can be raised on the validity of a result. When it comes to instruments I have directly worked with GCMS, HRMS, LCMSMS, QTof, Orbitrap, CIC and many other instruments I know how to get the best from each instrument and the limitations within a each. In my spare time i'm also a reviewer for journals and think i know what it takes to get a good publication.
