Dr. Hall is a multidisciplinary educator and researcher in the fields of public health, biology, environmental studies and environmental engineering, where he is an experienced developer of cutting-edge undergraduate, graduate and professional-level courses and programs. He has published 38 manuscripts and conference proceedings and has supervised 17 graduate students. Dr. Hall has led the development and delivery of many online and virtual e-learning programs at several institutions in Canada, which have engaged over 10,000 students from around the world. He is an Adjunct Professor within the School of Environmental Studies and the Department of Civil Engineering at Queen's University. Dr. Hall’s work on naturalized wastewater treatment has resulted in a water-related, national award by the Federation of Canadian Municipalities, for Sustainable Communities in 2020. Dr. Hall’s initiatives were also fundamental in being named a 2020 national finalist for the Canadian Museum of Nature’s Nature Inspiration Award. Dr. Hall's research interests include surface and groundwater quality, including microbial biomes and their role in natural and engineered systems. These interests include measuring and monitoring the movement of water resources through watersheds. In addition, his interests include holistic approaches to the assessment of environmental factors affecting human health. These include the modeling and movement of infectious, water-borne and zoonotic diseases, along with climate-related illness effects at the community level.
