My experience in research has always been driven by a genuine scientific curiosity. I started my career in particle physics by exploring the sub-nuclear interactions, then I moved to the field of stochastic thermodynamics , where I studied non-equilibrium processes and the energetic cost of information processing. I am currently a research associate at the Centre for developmental neurobiology at King's College London, where I collaborate with biologists to understand how environmental information is processed by the nervous system. We combine cutting-edge imaging technologies to study the activity of neurons in model organisms such as the C. elegans and the Zebrafish and apply computational methodologies from image processing to information theory and mathematical modelling to understand how neurons cooperate to trigger behaviour.
