I am a PhD chemical engineer and postdoctoral researcher at the Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces (Alexander von Humbolt fellow) working at the interface between sustainable materials, biomass valorization, and carbon-based materials for environmental and energy applications. I have authored 21 peer-reviewed publications covering biomass conversion, green transformation processes, and advanced characterization of complex materials. My work combines green chemistry, chemical engineering, and materials science approaches, with a strong focus on structure–function relationships and sustainable material design. I obtained my PhD from the University of Trento (Italy). I have also been a visiting researcher in the USA (Cornell University and Boston University), Japan (Tohoku University), and China (Northeast Agricultural University), working in interdisciplinary environments focused on biomass valorization and sustainable materials. In particular, I have a expertise in: • Characterization techniques for complex and heterogeneous materials (spectroscopy, chromatography, microscopy, surface analysis) • Development of chemical pathways of biomass systems • Modeling: kinetic modeling, techno-economic analysis (TEA), energy assessments, LCA • Process engineering: process integration for sustainable technologies, process simulation using Python and Aspen Plus, scale-up assessment • Scientific support: scientific writing, literature review, proposal preparation
