B.Sc. (1996) and M.Sc. (1998) degrees in Computer Sciences, and M.Sc. in Electronic Engineering (2014) from the University of Granada (Granada, Spain). Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering at Osaka University (Osaka, Japan, 2005), supported by a grant from the Ministry of Education of Japan. Afterwards, I was hosted by the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna (Pisa, Italy), for working on a project I proposed to the European Commission and got funded through a Marie Curie EIF postdoctoral fellowship. From 2008 to 2012, I have worked in the Biorobotics Department of Tecnalia Technological Centre (San Sebastián and Bilbao, Spain) as a Senior Researcher. From 2013 I have been working as a freelance researcher. My primary research lines include acquisition and processing of surface-electromyogram (EMG) signal as a monitoring tool, for the diagnosis of neuromotor diseases, and for prostheses control. I have produced 4 patents, more than 10 scientific papers (including full papers and conference papers) and 4 book chapters. I am highly experienced in designing and managing projects as well as identifying and obtaining research funding (public and private) for their execution.
