My name is Heather, and I have a master's and a doctorate in clinical psychology from an APA accredited program doctoral program. I completed an APA accredited predoctoral internship in clinical psychology at a state hospital, as well as a formal postdoctoral fellowship in forensic psychology at a maximum-security forensic hospital. My training is considered the “gold standard” per the American Psychological Association (APA) in the United States. While I am trained as a generalist, I am passionate about severe psychopathology and deviant behavior. Essentially, all of the patients/clients with whom I have worked were diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illness, a danger to themselves/others, and/or confined to an inpatient psychiatric/forensic hospital or prison. I have provided individual/group therapy to males and females of all ages, conducted forensic and psychological evaluations, assessed for the risk of future violence/suicide/sexual offenses/etc. I have specialized training in the assessment and treatment of sex offenders and the assessment and treatment of psychopathy, as well as survivors of torture, political persecution, sexual violence, and human rights violations. Previously, I served as a Clinical/Staff Psychologist & Federal Law Enforcement Officer for the Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Prisons. I am currently providing consultation and freelancing services for psychology students and psychologists, app developers, and the Entertainment Industry (film production/script consultation). In addition, I authored a workbook for predoctoral interns in clinical psychology, and served as a Guest Speaker at UCLA's Career Fair in May 2021.
