My research interests are mainly in development of organs-on-chips platforms to answer intriguing biological questions (such as interactions of microbiome with intestinal cells, cell-cell communication etc.) and/or studying of drug delivery and related diseases. I have experiences working with organ specific cells such as Caco-2 cells (for my PhD studies and postdoc) for developing a gut-on-chip device and brain cells to develop a blood-brain-barrier platform. I also did some initial E. coli co-culture studies with my gut-chip system. The microfluidic chips I developed had integrated electrodes. Prior to that, I have experiences in designing and fabrication of plastic microdevices with integrated micropumps and immbolised enzymes for human blood sampling and analysis.
