I am a legal historian and a scholar of international law. These two areas are sometimes connected and some times allow for different research avenues independent from one another. My work on international law deals with laws of war in light of the changes in contemporary warfare. As an Historian I have been writing on the connection between Politics, Religion and Education in Israel in recent years. Since finishing my Ph.D in 2009 I have published a book and fifteen articles published in peer-reviewed journals. I have been teaching in Israel and the U.S in legal studies and history departments. I taught courses such as topics in international public law, legal theory, Jewish law and survey of Jewish History and introduction to Middle Eastern History. My current research focuses on two issues: The first is the connection between Religion, politics and Education and the second is the theory of international law. In my work on politics, religion and education I analyze the ways in which religious educational institutions in the post secondary level create political identities among their students. I am specifically interested in the way political terminology is translated to religious language and vice versa. My secondary field of research in International law analyzes international law using political philosophy, I use critical hermeneutics and suggest alternative readings to legal texts on issues of laws of war and international humanitarian law.
