I have over 7 years of experience as a medical and scientific writer. I hold a PhD in Chemical Biology from Harvard University, and since completing my research there, I have gained experience writing about many topics in medicine, microbiology, and agricultural science. In my previous staff position as a Medical Learning Specialist, I designed and created medical courses for pharmaceutical company employees and supervised a team of medical writers and illustrators. My writing and editing experience also includes medical journalism, writing web content about biotech and food safety, writing training modules for nurses and clinical lab employees, editing research manuscripts, and consulting on experimental design. I have also served as a journal peer reviewer. In addition to my writing experience, I worked in scientific research for more than seven years in the fields of infectious disease, public health, and agriculture. I received my bachelor’s degree from Cornell University's plant sciences program and worked on research projects in agricultural science and crop genetics. My PhD work was in the field of infectious disease.
