Starting with an BA in History and an MA in Social Sciences from the University of Chicago, I have been a teacher of high school students and college aged students for nearly 20 years. During this time I have designed and taught original courses in history, literature, writing, ecology, astronomy, meteorology, religions, agriculture, and more. I have founded and led three different educational non-profits, including development of mission documents, promotional materials, press releases, and other materials. I am currently director of Thoreau College, a microcollege gap year program based in rural Wisconsin.
