I am a PhD graduate in Molecular Biosciences with a diverse interdisciplinary background spanning marine biology, molecular biology, microbiology, biotechnology, and environmental research. My academic and research training has allowed me to work across multiple scientific disciplines, combining wet laboratory techniques, molecular analyses, bioinformatics, scientific writing, and research mentoring. My undergraduate degree is in marine biology, where I developed a strong foundation in aquatic ecosystems, marine microorganisms, and environmental science. During my master’s degree in molecular biology, I worked on stem cell-related research and gained experience in molecular and cellular techniques. My PhD research focused on environmental biotechnology and bioremediation, particularly on ligninolytic enzyme production and plastic degradation by mangrove fungal endophytes. My work involved fungal isolation and characterization, enzyme assays, microbial cultivation, molecular biology techniques, metabolomics-related analyses, and bioinformatics approaches. I also have ongoing research experience involving the assessment of antibiotic-resistant bacteria in aquatic ecosystems and the investigation of plant-, animal-, and microbial-derived extracts against antibiotic-resistant microorganisms. In addition, I have conducted in silico molecular characterization studies of fungal enzymes and comparative analyses related to biodegradation and environmental applications. Beyond research, I have extensive experience in scientific writing, manuscript preparation, thesis advising, and publication support. I have advised undergraduate research projects that have won awards in research competitions and have been published in peer-reviewed journals. I am also currently serving as an Associate Editor for the Annals of Tropical Research, where I evaluate scientific manuscripts and provide technical and editorial recommendations.
