I am Dr. Jebi Sudan, a Biotechnologist holding a PhD in Biotechnology with 7 years and 10 months of professional experience. My primary focus is on plant molecular biology, specifically identifying genes linked to crucial quality traits in plants through molecular breeding. My overarching goal is to develop plants with enhanced quality traits to ensure global food and nutritional security. My research background includes extensive work in genetic crossing, mapping population development, and field screening of mustard and wheat germplasm. As a Research Fellow, I contributed significantly to improving both biotic (bacterial blight) and abiotic (drought) stress resistance in basmati rice using advanced breeding techniques. During my Post-Doctoral Fellowship, I conducted genetic analysis, field evaluations, and trait association studies on pigmented rice at high altitudes to screen for iron (Fe) and zinc (Zn) content. I possess a comprehensive set of technical skills, including various molecular biology techniques such as DNA/RNA isolation, PCR, qRT-PCR, dd-RAD library preparation, ELISA, and MassArray. My expertise also extends to tissue culture techniques, microbiological techniques, and advanced computational skills, utilizing software like TASSEL, CLC Genomics, DARwin, SPSS, Popgene, and Arlequin. I have a strong publication record, with numerous papers published in peer-reviewed journals, many of which have significant impact factors. Additionally, I have contributed to several book chapters and have both edited and authored books. I have also successfully guided M.Sc. and Ph.D. students and have been involved in patents, with one granted and two submitted. My commitment to the scientific community is evident through my life memberships in various professional societies and my active participation in numerous national and international conferences, where I have received awards for best presentations
