Dr. Joan Josep Bech Serra is a proteomics bioinformatician and biostatistician with extensive expertise in proteomics and oncology, with a particular focus on protein biochemistry, mass spectrometry, and data analysis. The relevance of his research is reflected in a strong publication record. In recent years, he has been involved in multiple proteomics and cancer research projects, where he has been responsible for the conception and execution of proteomic work packages. Among these contributions is his involvement in the Human Proteome Project, specifically in the annotation of the chromosome 16 proteome. He is currently engaged in the development of proteomics projects in both academia and the biotechnology industry. He is also active in dataset analysis and systems biology data integration, including phosphomotif enrichment, Gene Ontology (GO) term analysis, and network profiling.
