I have a Master degree in Industrial Engineering (Bio)chemistry and I worked for almost 5 years as a Product & Process Development Engineer in a sugar refinery (Sudzucker). My main tasks were: Contributing to the development and optimization of the production process, the products and the applied techniques for the Beneo-Orafti process in Belgium and Chile: - follow-up and modification of the production process in Belgium during the campaign. - performing development of new or improved products (mainly inulin and oligofructose products), processes and techniques. This includes a lot of shelf life projects at different conditions (temperature, packagings). - statistical analyses of production parameters, and lab results, using Statistica, Gretl, Design Experiment. - written and oral reporting: internal and external (other departments, R&D conference,..). Besides that I also did my Master Thesis at the University of Leuven about the Salinization of Maize plants. A lot of data-analyses, data-modeling, growth-modeling and scientific research and writing were involved in this project.
