For almost two decade, I have been directly involved in research, both at the preclinical and clinical level. An important output of my research experience has been to translate findings from preclinical studies to the clinical and to address clinical questions to the basic science. I have been directly involved int the submission of several awarded grants, such as three CIHR (Canadian Institute of Health Research), two grants CRS (Canadian Research Society) , one DoD (US Department of Defense in the past 15 years and two Phase I/II trials. My background in epidemiology will also be of utmost importance in my role as co-investigator.
