My research focuses on the study of human immunology. More specifically, I am interested in understanding how the mucosal immune system is altered during chronic inflammatory diseases, especially as it relates to local activation of B cells and antibody production. I hope that by gaining a better understanding of the mechanisms that lead to chronic inflammation at mucosal sites, we may be able to design improved therapeutic strategies for patients who suffer from diseases such as asthma, allergies and chronic rhinosinusits, or any disease that is mediated by B cells and antibodies. Some of the important skills I have acquired over the course of my career include problem solving and trouble shooting, experimental design and hypothesis testing, and verbal and oral communication skills. I enjoy finding creative solutions to problems in the lab, as well as synthesizing new ideas and hypotheses to address unique research questions from what is known in diverse areas of immunology and biology.
