I am a trained Bio-technologist with extensive experience in recombinant DNA technology, genetics, protein science, molecular biology, medical microbiology, CRISPR/Cas9 and animal cell culture. I hold PhD in Animal Biotechnology and have many research articles to my name and have done different freelance academic writing work, with good client feedback. Currently, working as post-doctoral Scientist at Leibniz University Hanover, Germany on understanding cell biology of S. venezuelae using protein biochemistry, molecular biology, the CRISPR/Cas9 system, protein-ligand biophysical assays. Worked as postdoctoral Scientist at HZI, Braunschweig, Germany for characterizing proteins involved in P. aeruginosa infection using CRISPR, Structural biology, Molecular microbiology and Galleria infection model. I was awarded with National Postdoctoral fellowship and worked on elucidating ‘Antibiotic resistance’ in community using metagenomics, in silico approaches and molecular biology approaches. My PhD work was on understanding host-microbe interactions using surface proteins. We produced recombinant probiotic surface proteins (Mub) and used it for preventing pathogen infection in human cells. Insights into other functionalities of Mub protein was explored using in-silico approaches like molecular docking, molecular simulations and function prediction tools. This led to a highly potent protein - Mub, effective as an anti pathogen-adhesion agent and a prospective 'Nutraceutical'. I have published >4 papers including in Scientific Reports and Environmental Chemistry Letters. My MSc. research was on preparation of controlled drug release formulations containing metformin hydrochloride. Skills: i) Gene cloning & protein expression, Functional metagenomics, Next Gen. sequencing, ELISA, SDS-PAGE, qPCR, PAGE, Western blot and Advanced protein purification techniques like Ultrafiltration, HPLC, Preparative IEF-based purification. ii) Cell culture techniques (primary culture and use of intestinal cell lines for functional analyses). iii) Biophysical techniques like UV-Vis Spectroscopy, FTIR, Tm analysis, Fluorimeter, DSC, Immunofluorescence. iv) GraphPad Prism, OriginPro 9.1, YASARA, Hex, I-TASSER, PyMOL, MEGA6, CLUSTAL-X, EzEDITOR, DNASTAR & UGENE package, ExPASY and NCBI tools. v)GMP, GLP, HACCAP, FSSAI and ISO regulations. vi) Grant writing, Academic writing, Leadership, Effective communication and Collaboration.
