Dr. Laveena D’Mello is a Professor, Research Guide, and Research Coordinator with more than 23 years of experience in teaching, research, counseling, training, and community development in the fields of Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, and Behavioral Sciences. She is currently associated with Srinivas University, Mangaluru, Karnataka, India. She holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from Mangalore University with research focused on HIV-positive women in Dakshina Kannada District. She also holds an M.Phil. in Sociology and a Master of Social Work (MSW). Her academic and professional expertise includes social science research, counseling, community mental health, psychosocial interventions, behavioral studies, and community development. Her major research areas include: • Mental health and psychosocial well-being • HIV/AIDS studies and counseling • Women and child welfare • Adolescent and youth development • Elderly care and aging studies • Community development and social welfare • Parenting, family studies, and social behavior • Women's empowerment and gender studies • Educational and behavioral research • Public health and community-based interventions Dr. D’Mello has successfully guided multiple Ph.D. scholars in Social Work and Psychology and continues to mentor ongoing doctoral and post-doctoral research projects. Her research supervision includes studies on mindfulness, autism, parenting styles, adolescent behavior, menstrual health, elderly well-being, women empowerment, cognitive development, social media influence, and community mental health.
