I am a stem cell biologist, with a decade of academic experience exploring many aspects of regenerative medicine (technical research, clinical and industrial translation, education, training, certification, regulation, ethics, grant funding, editing, outreach, communication, development). My PhD focused on using human stem cells for drug discovery in Parkinson's disease, by targeting both inflammatory and neuro-protective pathways. The majority of my work is with human stem cells, but I've also gained hands on experience with other model organisms including fruit flies, rodents, and Maine lobster. Additional info: Organized multiple scientific symposia and educational programs (domestic and international); experienced with donor relations, media communication, fundraising, project development; passionate about science education and outreach, mentored many volunteers and interns; proficient in German and Spanish.
