Thus far in my career, the primary basis of my research experiences has been in the field of translational immunology and T-cell responses with a concentration on antiviral responses and primary immunodeficiency diseases, particularly ones leading to immunodysregulatory, autoimmune disorders. While at Baylor College of Medicine I was the principal scientist, leading multidisciplinary teams consisting of cell biologists, geneticists, and immunologists, both in basic and clinical sciences in the design of experimentation for the identification and characterization of novel genetic diseases. During my research I made significant discoveries including the identification of COPA syndrome. In recognition of this I was fortunate enough to receive the Lee C. Howley Sr. prize for arthritis research from the arthritis foundation in 2015. I am eager to offer my expertise and expand my experiences beyond academia. I am a life learner and aim to make more contributions to the field.
