As a scientist, I have become an expert numerous times – when I began my graduate degree, I was aiming for a doctorate in microbial ecology, however the professor I happily earned my PhD under was focused on characterizing an inner membrane protein family. Continuing with where my doctorate work lead me (DNA replication) I began a postdoc position in a biochemistry lab, where I became an expert in purifying proteins and DNA binding assays. My current postdoc brought me back to environmental microbiology, where I am working to find new microbes (or their novel genes) that allow them to utilize a toxin (dibenzo-p-dioxin) as their sole carbon and energy source (of which only one organism is in pure culture). No matter the area/topic, I'm certain I can assist with your needs.
