I bring a 360° approach to the table thanks to the experience and expertise gained in 13+ years, of which 4+ in Pharmaceutical Industry and 9 years in Academia. A Pharmaceutical Biotechnologist by training during my BSc, I then continued with my MSc in Molecular Medicine and a PhD, which combined biochemistry techniques with computational methods to guide and support the experimental part. I was then a guest scientist at the University of Innsbruck (Computer-Aided Molecular Design Group), where I completed 2 projects in less than 3 months. My contribution resulted in a 10% in vitro hit rate for the identification of endocrine disruptors, and in an all-atom model of a transmembrane protein which could be then used for further structure-based drug discovery campaigns. I also mentored students in protein modeling and molecular dynamics simulations. I then joined a Pharmaceutical company, where I: Developed a novel computational chemistry/cheminformatics approach within the first 4 months of appointment, opening new opportunities for the company || Applied AI-based technology and CADD tools towards small-molecule drug discovery for rare diseases || Obtained a 20% in vitro hit rate on a CNS target within the first 2 months of appointment || Successfully identified 18 active compounds for 2 additional non-CNS projects || Won a prestigious industrial grant (> 100k €) for the development of high-tech industrial R&D projects
