I have a PhD in Bioengineering from National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan with specialized expertise in organ-on-a-chip technology, cancer biology, microfluidics, and translational drug resistance research. My work integrates bioengineering, cell biology, and molecular analysis to develop physiologically relevant in vitro models for drug screening and mechanistic studies. During my doctoral research, I designed and engineered 3D microfluidic liver-on-a-chip systems to investigate cancer-induced resistance to tyrosine kinase inhibitors in hepatoma cells. My work identified key mediators such as AHSG and CLEC3B and explored tumor endothelial cell–driven resistance mechanisms, contributing to biomarker discovery and therapeutic targeting strategies. I led collaborative projects valued at up to $400,000, working closely with clinical and interdisciplinary teams. My technical expertise includes: Microfluidic device design and fabrication (photolithography, soft lithography, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, COMSOL) 3D scaffold-based cell culture and organoid systems Molecular and protein analysis (Western blot, ELISA, immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry) LC-MS/MS and advanced analytical techniques Nanoparticle fabrication for drug delivery applications Imaging and material characterization (SEM, TEM, XRD, FTIR) Data analysis and visualization using ImageJ, GraphPad Prism, and Origin In addition to academic research, I gained industry experience as an R&D intern at ACT Genomics, Taipei, where I developed FDA-oriented technical documentation, prepared regulatory reports, and collaborated with cross-functional teams to ensure scientific accuracy and compliance. This experience strengthened my ability to translate complex research into structured, client-ready documentation. I have published in peer-reviewed journals, including Lab on a Chip and Sensors & Actuators B, and have presented my work at international conferences in Japan and Europe. My chip design was featured on the cover of Lab on a Chip.
