I'm experience in academic research in both South Africa and Germany, and have lead the development of several new products in Industry. As such, I've also written both academic publications as well successful industrial funding proposals. My research started with synthetic chemistry and materials science, and transitioned to surface science, electrochemistry, such as stable electrodes, electroplating and electropolishing, and industrial scale precious metals preparations. I've found my broad background has given me the ability to connect concepts from different disciplines, often leading to unique solutions or products.
