As a researcher I focused on the analysis of human stem cells located in blood vessels and their contribution to regeneration of tissues. I specifically worked on perivascular cells expressing stem cell markers that may contribute to fibrosis. Moreover, we also studied how these cells can be used for bone regeneration. More recently I have worked on the metabolism of brown adipose tissue in animal models, trying to elucidate how hypoxia is involved in the development of obesity.
