Dr. Mark Grier has over 24 years of experience in drug discovery, where I have directed and managed research projects across various therapeutic areas. My extensive industrial background includes collaboration with academic groups focused on innovative drug discovery for novel targets. My research includes directing investigations into small molecule inhibitors, targeted degraders, and antibody-drug conjugates, as well as exploring new mechanisms and chemical modalities. He holds a Ph.D. in organic chemistry and completed two years of post-doctoral research in drug discovery. Dr. Grier has a strong track record with over 25 patents and publications in medicinal chemistry and contributed to the co-development of two marketed pharmaceuticals, NUZYRA® and SEYSARA®. In addition to my expertise in medicinal chemistry and drug discovery, I have expertise and working knowledge of computational tools, DEL and FBDD screening, automation chemistry, and AI/ML applications for drug discovery. Currently, Mark Grier, PhD, is a Biotechnology & Pharmaceutical Consultant for MedSyn Solutions (01/2012-Present). Previously, I held the position of Associate Director of Medicinal Chemistry at Nurix Therapeutics (05/2023-04/2025), a biotechnology company focused on developing drugs to treat cancer, including novel small molecule immune-oncology agents. He also previously served as an Associate Research Professor at Rutgers University (07/2020-05/2023). Before these roles, he was Chief of Drug Discovery at Sentauri (03/2022-04/2023), an AI startup working with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies to accelerate pre-clinical drug discovery. He previously served as the Director of External Chemistry and Research Services at Echelon Biosciences (04/2020-12/2021) and Frontier Scientific (04/2020-12/2021), and he was the Director of Drug Discovery at Echelon Biosciences, Inc. (xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx), where he managed and directed medicinal chemistry projects investigating small molecule therapeutics in neurology and oncology. He is well experienced and skilled in assisting clients with their consulting needs, providing expert consulting services in all aspects of drug discovery and computational chemistry.
