Marlon L. Bayot is a physician and a technical advisor for laboratory medicine and public health in the Philippines. His field of expertise centers on laboratory network management, laboratory systems strengthening, public health and medical research. He achieved a bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science (medical technology) and a master's degree in public health before becoming a licensed physician. He provides technical assistance encompassing a wide scale of stakeholders in the health sector -- from the peripheral, provincial and regional, and national levels -- using varied strategies to improve areas of training management and supervision, monitoring and evaluation, quality management system and laboratory information management and other key technical areas. Currently, he provides short-term technical advisory and consultancy services to local and international clients as an independent expert. He is an international author/editor of scientific journal articles, review materials, and other educational tools/technical advisory services addressing key issues on certain technical/clinical areas intended for specialists, clinicians, nurses, allied health professionals, and basic scientists as part of the continuing (medical) education programs (CME, CE).
