I am a PhD enzymologist and protein biochemist with over 30 years experience in the biopharma and industrial biotechnology sectors, including 15 years running a laboratory that designed and managed development projects and provided analytical biochemical services. My technical expertise is in the purification and characterization of proteins (including enzymes) and peptides, the design and development of analytical methods for protein and peptide characterization, and the design and development of methods to measure enzyme activity. I specialize in the development of protein and peptide products at the critical initial stages when the product is being characterized and a practical production process for it is being defined. My mission is to provide a solid foundation for the product’s development so that scale up will be straightforward, the material for field studies and clinical trials will be well-defined and reproducible, and the QA/RA aspects of bringing the product to market will pass smoothly with minimal unpleasant surprises. I provide consulting services for: -Early stage product and process development including proof of concept -Analytical method development -Troubleshooting of problems or shortcoming in existing analytical methods -Technology assessments I also do scientific and regulatory writing and editing: -Writing support documentation for development projects -Planning, writing, and editing regulatory documents (development reports, SOP’s, validation protocols,etc.) -Writing and editing scientific papers and grant proposals -Writing science-based articles for nonscientists
