I am a bioscientist, engineer and product creator with over a decade of experience in the beverage and herbal industries. My skillset is a synergy of biotech, gastronomy, ethnobotany and phytopharmacology. I have broad range of relevant expertise, including in fermentation, [nano]emulsion, [vacuum] distillation, pasteurization, food safety, herbal extraction, flavor science, product development, packaging and process engineering. I am the founder and owner of FuncBot (fka Functional Botanical Company), which specializes in bioactive non-alcoholic beverages, though I also work extensively on alcoholic beverages. I have formulated numerous other products, including non-alcoholic spirits, amari, canned RTDs, botanically enhanced hemp honey, psychedelic gummies, canned cocktails, dealcoholized drink and various fermented/distilled/infused beverages. I split my time between the USA and Mexico. He halfway through a MS in Biotechnology at Johns Hopkins University. Matt has taught classes on the flavor science of beverages at the American Distilling Institute, the Bar Institute and the University of Gastronomic Sciences. Matt is also a decorated volunteer firefighter and EMT.
