During my research career, I have focused on utilizing magnetic resonance imaging to investigate neural processes related to psychiatric disorders, cognitive processes, and learning/memory-related mechanisms. I have collaborated with researchers in Chemistry, Radiology, Psychiatry, Physiology, Psychology as well as neuropharmaceutical companies in the private sphere. In addition, I have conducted community outreach to educate and stimulate young minds regarding the wonders of science and the brain. My interests have recently turned toward teaching medical professionals on statistical methodology and efficient electronic medical records. RESEARCH INTERESTS -Acceleration / optimization of learning to facilitate memory -Use of psychoactive drugs to ameliorate psychiatric and other disorders -Employing literature-based discovery and network algorithms to create a web of scientific knowledge PREVIOUS PROJECTS -Measuring pretrial network activity to predict behavioral outcomes and optimize learning -Identifying intrinsic neural networks in animals to facilitate translational neuroscience research -Manganese-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging in rabbits to identify neural activity -Empathy-driven neural activity in psychiatric patients -Normalization of cognitive deficits in psychiatric patients using nicotine -Alteration of memory due to chemotherapy in cancer patients
